Salford Business School is seeking a Innovation & Collaboration Partnership Associate to support the Centre for Sustainable Innovation (CSI), under the direction of the CSI Director. Launched in January 2024, CSI focuses on digital transformation, sustainability, and change management, serving as an innovation hub for partnerships with industry and academia.
This exciting role supports the CSI Director and academic colleagues in developing their research profiles through external funding awards. You'll provide proactive support for research planning and development, build relationships with academics and external partners, and facilitate engagement with funding opportunities. With a focus on fostering innovation-ready businesses across various sectors, including international development, you'll offer leadership in enterprise development, sales, and marketing to enhance commercialisation opportunities. Additionally, you'll assist in building international partnerships and support the operational development of Horizon opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
Liaise with and support the CSI Director, Associate Professors, CSI academic affiliates & Project PI’s in the identification of funding opportunities that support the delivery of the CSI Research and Knowledge Exchange targets, including the development of strategic proposals for funding into key UK programmes.
Maintain a high level of knowledge in relation to regulations and procedures and funding mechanisms
Work with academic colleagues to develop research funding plans, agreeing timetables and schedules for work to be completed.
Support the development of research proposals, working closely with senior academic mentors, Finance, and the wider Research & Knowledge Exchange directorate where needed to add value to the research development process.
Assist applicants in engaging external organisations (both academic and non-academic) in multidisciplinary, joint collaborative initiatives, co-ordinating input from external partners during application development.
Assist with proposal writing (particularly the non-technical aspects of the proposal), including ensuring alignment with funder/government strategic priorities, that project budgets are realistic, manageable, and in line with the funding regulations of the grant awarding body and the University, and that impact and implementation sections are well developed.
To lead on building ecosystems with Innovation ready businesses, developing and implementing plans to achieve a market-leading position and promote revenue growth through taking new and existing products to market.
Develop and support new opportunities for income growth from Research, Knowledge Exchange and Commercial Enterprises, with a particular focus on Horizon funding opportunities
