We are currently seeking a highly organised and compassionate individual to join our Disability Inclusion Service. As a Disability Inclusion Adviser, you will be responsible for identifying and assessing the support requirements of disabled students. Collaborating closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll play a vital part in creating an inclusive and supportive environment. As a team player who takes pride in their work, you’ll work independently to deliver appointments and manage your own caseload.

Your proactive approach will allow you to contribute to a diverse and rewarding role, where you’ll be encouraged to initiate and manage projects aimed at enhancing the experiences of disabled students at Salford. If you’re passionate about making a positive impact, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaboration: Work closely with University staff, both in central support services and Schools, to ensure comprehensive support arrangements for disabled students across all aspects of university life.
  • Champion Inclusive Practice: Challenge existing academic practices to embed inclusivity within teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Assess and Advise: Conduct assessments for a wide range of disabilities and provide case-specific advice to university staff.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate student records, meet service level key performance indicators, and contribute to data collation and analysis for continuous improvement.
  • Engage and Educate: Deliver presentations and actively engage with disability-related networks to enhance the inclusive student experience at the University. Additionally, collaborate with external partners, including non-medical helper agencies, to provide holistic support.
