The University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Full Time Credit Controller. You will play an important role in helping us embed the University's values of Fairness, Ambition, Inclusivity, Respect and Openness.
Credit Control sits within our Income and Collections department, alongside Invoicing and Income. We safeguard the University of Nottingham’s assets, by effectively managing risk and exposure levels. 2025 is an exciting time to join us as we open a new city centre campus, invest in our infrastructure, and launch our new ERP system.
About the role
You will join a team that’s passionate about financial control in all its forms. You will be trained to work on a diverse range of debtor’s ledgers including Commercial debt, Student debt (Tuition and Accommodation), Corporate Sponsors, and Subsidiaries ranging from property to energy. Key tasks include
- Managing the sales ledger in line with collection strategies and policies.
- Query resolution and negotiating payment plans
- Overseeing collection agency referrals, legal cases, and credit referencing.
- Forming lasting partnerships with all stakeholders.
- Performing general accounts receivable and OTC (order to cash) activities.
About you
You may be from a finance, risk, or receivables background with an understanding of invoicing and cashiering processes. Desirable qualities include:
- Organised and proactive. You thrive in a fast-paced and varied environment.
- A positive outlook. You work well as part of team or independently.
- Able to prioritise your workload whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy.
- Interpersonal skills – you have the curiosity, initiative, and drive to solve problems.
- Strong IT skills (MS Excel, ERP)
- Experience in the HE sector and use of Oracle Fusion is desirable but not essential.
