About the role:

Applications are invited for the position of Clinical Research Fellow to work in the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) on the Hammersmith Hospital campus.  We are seeking a highly motivated junior doctor to join a collaborative team of clinicians, basic scientists, and physical scientists working in pulmonary hypertension research. The post is for research funded by Imperial College London. The researcher will focus on delivering prospective studies that are directed at innovative approaches to developing and evaluating novel drug therapies for pulmonary arterial hypertension. The post is advertised as a 3-year position and would allow the candidate to do a 3-year PhD.

What you would be doing:

The Clinical Research Fellow will deliver prospective studies that test the effectiveness of novel drug treatments for patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. The post holder will work closely with clinicians, laboratory scientists, bioengineers and data scientists within the multi-disciplinary group. It is expected that the work performed by the Clinical Research Fellow will be part of a higher degree (PhD).

What we are looking for:

  • Medical qualification with registration at the General Medical Council
  • You should have an MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • A background in cardiovascular research, including with AI and big data, is desirable.
  • The post will require collaboration with other groups both within and outside the department.

Further Information

The post is full-time fixed-term for a duration of 3 years. The successful applicant will be expected to start in April, subject to vasic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.

The successful applicant will join a team of basic and clinician-scientists with a longstanding and successful track record of innovation, evident in their publication record and impact on clinical practice.
