The role of the Business Development Coordinator is to develop a pipeline of Custom Client leads for Client Directors to follow up on, to help win new Custom business. The Business Development Coordinator will also introduce Open Programme and Apprenticeship Levy programmes as well as other Imperial offerings, as appropriate.
Executive Education at Imperial continues to be a growing field. Building upon Imperial’s resources, intellectual assets and networks, the custom development programmes we create for organisations harness our distinctive position within one of the world’s top 10 STEM-B universities. We partner with clients to design a custom solution, leveraging our global network and multi-perspective ecosystem, where businesses, researchers and the next generation of innovators come together to solve some of the most important issues facing the world today.
What you would be doing:
In this role, you will create lists of potential clients (using LinkedIn and other sources), identify and develop new business contacts in collaboration with Executive Education colleagues, and generate leads through cold calling, networking, and social media. You will respond promptly to enquiries with excellent service, follow up on leads from marketing campaigns, and qualify interested potential customers for referral to Client Directors. Additional responsibilities include developing customer-focused processes and correspondence, supporting events or conferences to generate new leads, preparing concise company summaries, providing administrative support for proposals when needed, identifying new industries or markets for lead generation, and reporting on the effectiveness of lead generation campaigns.
What we are looking for:
You should be educated to degree level (or have equivalent professional experience) with proven business development experience in a business school or commercial training/consultancy environment. You will excel at providing responsive customer service, managing demanding workloads, and meeting deadlines. Proficiency in databases/CRM is essential, along with an understanding of business development and sales processes. You will have a broad knowledge of and interest in Executive Education, be well networked within the Executive Education/business school community, and be self-directed with strong communication, listening, and networking skills. You must be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and open to building networks, ideally in an international, multicultural environment. Above all, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are critical for success in this position.
What we can offer you
The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to use science for humanity.
