The Disability and Inclusion Manager is a key role in management and delivery of our support service for students with disabilities and long-term medical conditions. We are committed to ensuring that students can fully engage with their studies and achieve success throughout their time at university and beyond, by providing support, removing barriers to education and develop inclusive learning and teaching practices.
The role-holder directly contributes to strategy and initiatives promoting inclusion as well as providing support and guidance to students and staff on a range of matters relating to disabilities, including reasonable adjustments, DSA and external support. The Disability and Inclusion Manager will maintain an up-to-date knowledge of opportunities and challenges around disability and inclusion that are relevant to higher education and provide insight and guidance to the wider university to ensure best practice across the university. The role also holds line management responsibility for a Disability and Inclusion Adviser.
The ideal candidate will have experience in working in disability support, preferably in higher education and will have knowledge in a range of support and funding mechanisms for students studying at university in the UK. Experience of developing policy, process and procedure is also important to this role as is the ability create positive working relationships with staff and students alike.
