Are you passionate about personality psychology, mental health and wellbeing? Could you teach a range of perspectives on personality, and highlight the impact of culture on research and practice in these areas?
The School of Psychological Sciences at Birkbeck, University of London aims to recruit an Associate Lecturer to teach on our Individual Differences module.
As Associate Lecturer you would teach:
Your role will be to deliver teaching to Birkbeck students, in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully, and to undertake all related course administrative duties as required.
Your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration, and assessment of the module, which is a Level 4 module offered on our BPS-accredited BSc Psychology.
The module explores core theories and debates within Individual Differences with particular focus given to personality psychology, mental health, wellbeing, social and cross-cultural factors of importance. It also emphasises critical thinking, academic writing skills, and reflection of different relevant theories.
As an Associate Lecturer, at Birkbeck, you will be working closely with the module convenor to organise, deliver, and assess the module.

Remuneration:
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £68.13 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ at 2.5, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
