Learning Technologist - Maternity Cover

Swansea or Carmarthen Campus (hybrid working with travel to other locations as necessary)

We are now looking for a Digital Learning Technologist – Maternity Cover to join our team on a full time, fixed term for 1 Year basis, working 37 hours per week.

THE ROLE

The Digital Learning Technologist will play a key role in assessing and identifying staff development needs in the area of Digital learning, designing and delivering training sessions accordingly. This will involve providing bespoke advice, guidance and training in the application of technology for teaching, learning and assessment and therefore contributing to the university’s programme of staff development activities.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered as Digital Learning Technologist, you will need:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a related role
• Knowledge of effective online pedagogies, production methods and appropriate tools for developing online and digital learning solutions and content
• Demonstrable experience of applying pedagogy, learning theory and effective practice in a teaching and learning or training environment
• Experience of working collaboratively to provide user support for core learning and teaching systems and tools, preferably in an Education context (e.g. Moodle or equivalent VLE)
• Proven experience of translating user requirements into effective and efficient user- centric digital learning solution
• Ability to develop and apply research skills into digital learning solutions
• Ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of new developments in learning technology
• Awareness of issues relating to the use of digital learning resources in an HE context
• g. copyright, data protection, academic integrity, accessibility, etc.
• Demonstrable experience of creative thinking
• Ability to demonstrate effective organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, develop and implement action plans and work to deadlines
