Oxford University Department for Continuing Education (OUDCE) is seeking to appoint a Senior Management Accountant
About the role:
This role is a key part of the Department’s finance team, supporting the Finance Manager in providing critical financial support to the Department and its sub-units. This varied role includes producing financial reports, budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining a robust control environment. Additionally, the Senior Management Accountant will have line management responsibility for the Finance Administrator (Payables) and oversight of payroll-related payments.
You will work closely with the other Senior Management Accountant, providing cross-cover, and will assist with long-term financial planning and improving processes and procedures within the Department. The role also involves financial appraisals for new courses, overseeing cost allocations, and ensuring compliance with University regulations.
This is a full-time position, available on a permanent contract.
About you:
You will be a proactive, detail-oriented individual with experience in management accounting and financial reporting. You will have excellent communication and analytical skills, and be comfortable engaging with stakeholders to ensure accuracy in budgeting and forecasting. You will be adept at working with sensitive and confidential information and be confident in managing team members and ensuring compliance with financial controls. Experience in working with complex financial data and systems, such as student numbers and central university finance tools, will be valuable. You should also have strong accounting knowledge, evidenced by a CCAB qualification or equivalent.
