An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Event Sales & Administration Assistant to be part of a small and efficient team within the Events Department.

About the role

The Event Department is part of the Commercial team, contributing to the financial sustainability of the Ashmolean Museum. The department coordinates and hosts a wide range of events from daytime and evening weddings to corporate dinners and large-scale receptions.

The Event Sales & Administration Assistant provides vital administrative support for a number of departmental functions including sales enquiries, finance and reporting, events, catering and team administration and ad-hoc event operations support.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working 36.5 hours per week onsite at the Ashmolean Museum.

About You

You will be able to deal calmly and efficiently with administrative tasks and be confident fielding enquiries, via email, phone and in person, from clients and Museum staff, directing them to the right information, Event Sales manager or department.

This position requires strong attention to detail, particularly when completing financial tasks and taking accurate minutes for Board meetings. It will also enable you to build on your administrative experience and develop your financial and sales negotiation skills as this position is responsible for handling a number of smaller daytime events throughout the year, from beginning to end.
