About the Role
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to an ongoing Barts Charity and MRC funded research project involving Epigenetic regulation of the human placenta. The successful candidate will plan and carry out experimental work, analyse data, and devise techniques for further development of the project development. Tasks will include performing CRISPR mediated knockout and knockdown validations, transfection, imaging, protein analysis, RNA and chromatin analysis, and analysing with genomics datasets. Training will be provided where needed.
About You
Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant bioscience field (or be close to completion*) self-driven and willing to learn new skills. Hands on experience with molecular biology techniques and mammalian cell culture is essential. Experience in collating, maintaining and deploying data-sets to produce, interpret and present data reports and analysis would be a significant advantage. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team, deliver projects within an agreed time frame, and maintain good laboratory records are also beneficial. We are keen to support the successful candidate in any technical areas in which they do not have prior knowledge.
About the Institute
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
