The University of Bath is seeking to recruit a qualified counsellor to join the team of highly qualified, experienced practitioners working in the university’s Therapeutic Service.
The role offers a great opportunity to work in an established, respected, & well-used service which is part of the Student Support & Safeguarding Department.
Our experienced clinical team comprises of practitioners working with a wide range of presentations, including complex trauma, complex mental health anxiety, depression, bereavement. The team offers a range of theoretical orientations, (psychodynamic, solution focussed, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family Systems), providing free & confidential brief counselling interventions for students studying at the university and out on placement.
About you
You must have completed a post-graduate level counselling qualification and hold current professional registration accreditation with one of the following bodies: BACP, UKCP, BABCP, BCP, or as a clinical or counselling psychologist with BPS. Please note these are essential requirements of the post.
You must also have demonstrable post-qualification experience of delivering time-limited interventions to clients experiencing a range of presenting difficulties, including working with complex trauma.
It is vital that you can work with patience, tolerance & sensitivity, and maintain a non-judgemental approach when working with students from a diverse, wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
