The University of Roehampton is recruiting to the role of Duty Manager (Evenings) to lead a small team of library assistants, providing a high level of service and ensuring operability of the library outside of regular hours.

As Duty Manager, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality library services. You will provide an excellent standard of service to all our customers and visitors encouraging them to explore and make use of all our services, supporting them in achieving their full potential.

The Duty Managers are responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Library, Evening and Weekend Assistants, and deputise for the Team Leader Library & Learning Environment in their absence.

The Duty Manager (Evenings) will work the following hours:

During University term time only

Monday to Thursday

5pm to 10:15pm

Friday

2:15pm to 7:15pm

Some flexibility may be required to work additional or other hours outside of this pattern to meet operational requirements. This will be discussed in advance and will be paid.

The successful candidate attributes.

  • You must be committed to putting customers at the heart of service delivery and supporting day-to-day library operations.
  • You should have excellent communication skills, be able to build excellent team-working relationships, and complete tasks to a high standard.
  • You need to respond calmly and professionally in busy situations.
  • You must be able to work independently, show initiative, and be flexible
  • Have experience of managing or supervising a small team
