Main duties and responsibilities
To provide central administrative support to the Business Development team within the wider Innovation Team and act as a first point of contact for enquires. Reporting to the Accounts and Operations Manager, the post holder will work with colleagues across the team to deliver a range of business services that support the Department in achieving its knowledge exchange objectives and income generation targets. Knowledge Exchange activities include offerings such as: Technology Transfer, Intellectual Property, Collaborative and Contract Research, Consultancy and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP). Duties will include, but are not limited to, arranging meetings, booking rooms, travel, car parking, preparing agendas, joining instructions and other papers and recording proceedings via action lists or formal minutes as required.
Skills and experience required
We are looking for someone with proven background of providing excellent customer service, and experience in clerking meetings (including minute taking and coordination activities). You will have knowledge of MS Office applications, and experience of using a Client Relationship Management System (CRM) such as Dynamics 365, would be desirable. Excellent oral and written communications are essential. Administrative experience, ideally in a large organisation working at the interface between industry and universities is desirable. You will be expected to deal with sensitive commercial or personal information with strict confidentiality and be able to work effectively with people across a range of organisations, departments and levels of seniority. The role requires methodical approach, able to prioritise a demanding workload and to work to tight deadlines. There will be an expectation to travel regularly to University client premises for project meetings.
Qualifications required
You must be educated with A-Level or an equivalent qualification or proven professional work experience
