Main duties and responsibilities
We are looking for an Entrepreneurship Adviser and Connector to join Careers and Employment to work as part of a team to drive the promotion and development of an entrepreneurial culture to primarily develop the UH graduate attributes of professionalism, employability and enterprise through business start-up activities.
You will engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best enterprise opportunities are available to UH students, graduates and users of UH Incubation.
You will deliver enterprise advice and guidance, as well as a full range of start-up and skills workshops both on and offline. You will also liaise with academic staff around the delivery of enterprise and business support work in our academic schools.
You will be a strong presenter who will inspire and challenge students and graduates through the delivery of enterprise and business development schemes.
You should have experience of delivering business start-up programmes, or similar, and be able to confidently deliver interactive sessions to large groups. You should have a proven track record of supporting successful businesses, ideally from start-up phase.
The role requires strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.
Skills and experience required
For this busy and challenging role, you will need excellent personal management, organisational and IT skills. Proven experience of similar work, preferably in a higher educational environment, is advantageous. You should be committed to providing a high-quality service and have excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications required
You must hold a minimum of a degree, or equivalent qualification, or have substantial relevant work experience.
