We are seeking to appoint a Senior Skills Educator in Health and Social Care to join the Department of Social and Psychological Sciences. You will be located in the Division of Social Work and Social Care and will contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate programmes within the division, with specific emphasis on the Health and Social Care curriculum.
With significant experience of working in health and social care settings, you will have excellent working knowledge of social care law, policy and practice. A Master’s degree in a relevant subject (or nearing completion), together with a relevant teaching qualification or a willingness to complete this, is essential. This will enable students to learn from knowledgeable and well-qualified educators who are at the forefront of their subject area.
You will have experience of working with students to inspire them to excel through positive role modelling and creative teaching and you will be committed to partnership working with service users, carers and employers.
The Division is committed to developing and delivering excellent and groundbreaking health, social care and social work teaching, learning and research. It is seeking to maintain its reputation as a top-quality provider of teaching at both undergraduate and post graduate levels.
The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all. Find out more about our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, including our commitments and accreditations as a Disability Confident Employer, Stonewall Gold Award holder and Top 100 Employer, Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder and Race Equality Charter Bronze Award holder.
Informal enquiries about the role are welcome and should be made to Kim Heanue, Subject Area Leader - Social Work, Social Care & Housing, Email: k.heanue@hud.ac.uk.
