Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: Bishops Square, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield 

The Finance Department is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager. This is a permanent position and is an integral part of the Finance function, reporting to the Group Financial Accountant. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for running all aspects of the Accounts Payable team and taking a strategic role in the continuing development and improvement of the accounts payable function using our finance system (TechnologyOne) and other connected software systems such as invoicing scanning. You will ensure that purchase invoices and other accounts payable liabilities are properly accounted for and processed according to the University’s policies and procedures; that payments are made to all creditors of the University of Hertfordshire Group within the agreed contract terms having regard to the availability of funding; and that the necessary records and reports are maintained.

Skills And Experience Required

We are seeking someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who is pro-active and motivated, organised and has a flexible approach to change. Substantial proven experience of managing or supervising an Accounts Payable team is essential, including support and development of team members, as is experience with system implementation and change. You will have strong IT and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications Required

You will be educated with a degree, or equivalent level qualification or proven experience.

An AAT qualification is desirable.
