Applications are invited for the post of Conservation Manager at Cambridge University Library.
The Conservation Manager offers excellent technical expertise and project management skills to facilitate the efficient operation of all work undertaken in the Conservation Department. They manage the work of their direct reports to facilitate the preservation of the Library's diverse collections through complex remedial treatment using both preventive and interventive conservation measures.
You will work closely with the Head of Conservation and Heritage to maintain compliance with the University Libraries strategic initiatives in the Conservation Department. You will maintain excellent documentation and contribute to timely delivery of projects and adherence to budgets.
The successful candidate will have excellent management, organisational and communication skills, attention to detail and a high standard of practical skills in keeping with professional and ethical standards of best practice. Your work contributes to the overall good stewardship of Cambridge University Libraries collections and helps to ensure that the Library is at the forefront of current thinking and best practice in the Conservation of cultural heritage. Experience of teaching, public speaking, managing exhibitions and loans, is desirable.
This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 37 hours per week with actual start and finish times to be agreed.
