Faculty / Directorate
The Health and Life Sciences Placements team forms part of our wider Careers team, and sits within the Library and Student Services directorate (LSS). The Health and Life Sciences (HLS) faculty is renowned for its high-quality teaching and recently underwent a £12 million investment in faculty facilities, including industry-standard laboratories and equipment.
Role

We provide excellent support and advice to students undertaking mandatory placements as part of their studies. This will be a busy role liaising with a range of practice settings including NHS trusts and many other private, voluntary and independent organisations.
You will develop your knowledge of placement delivery across all the programmes the team supports and provide administrative assistance to our Coordinators and Officers. The accurate processing of placement travel and accommodation claims and Nursing and Midwifery evaluation data will be an important aspect of the role.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills as the ability to build rapport with students is important in this role. You will also demonstrate strong organisational skills as a supportive member of the Careers Team, a problem-solving approach and enthusiasm for teamwork. You will have demonstrable experience of working in a fast-paced customer-facing environment and an excellent knowledge of working with databases and/or CRM systems.
In return, you will join a busy, caring and resourceful team at DMU, working at the heart of employability and the student experience, where your input will be valued and your ideas listened to. There will be ample opportunity for personal and professional development.
