Faculty / Directorate
The Estates & Facilities Directorate is large and diverse, employing about 300 people, ranging from plumbers, electricians, carpenters, cleaners, porters and leisure centre assistants, to property management professionals, architects, project officers, CAD, space management, sustainability and energy and administrative personnel.

Role
An experienced Mechanical Technician (Plumber/Fitter) is required to join the Estates and Facilities Maintenance team. Reporting to the Building Services Supervisor this role will covers the repair and maintenance on all plumbing installations and building service engineering systems. You will be expected to carry out day to day reactive maintenance to plumbing, drainage and heating systems and respond to emergency situations and make safe.
Ideal Candidate
You must hold a C&G Mechanical qualification or equivalent or be apprenticeship trained; have experience of mechanical trade work on a wide range of building services plant and equipment along with the knowledge of Health and Safety legislative compliance related to the role.
Whilst being proactive in your approach you will be a self-motivated individual with the ability work both independently and as part of a team attending work outside of normal hours when necessary. Experienced in the use of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel, as you will be required to complete on-line work requests issued by the Estates Helpdesk.
