The Civic HealthTech Innovation Zone (CHI-Zone) is being established to accelerate the growth of the health and life science sector, upskill residents and create jobs for the Liverpool City Region. A new team is being created as part of the CHI-Zone, to develop tools to leverage information from health datasets to guide advancements in pharmaceutical research. As data engineer within this team, you will create the data infrastructure underpinning discovery research.
Working under the supervision of Professors Simon Maskell and Iain Buchan, you will work with other members of the Maskell group and the University’s Civic Health Innovation Labs. You will assume primary responsibility for developing pipelines for integrating health and social care data from diverse sources, and for creating data-infrastructure supporting digital health projects. You will engage with data scientists and domain experts to ensure data accessibility, accuracy, and utility for machine learning and predictive modelling.
The post is available from 1st April 2025 until 31st March 2028.
