Job description:
Applications are encouraged for a Research Associate in organic chemistry to work with Dr Ben Partridge. The role is part of an EPSRC IAA Knowledge Exchange project that will develop new alkylboronic ester products. These have potential use as chemical building blocks that will increase the efficiency in which complex molecules are prepared
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Chemistry (or have submitted their thesis prior to appointment). Expertise in multistep synthesis of organic molecules is essential. You will also have the ability to invent, analyse and improve chemical reactions. Experience in asymmetric synthesis and/or catalysis is desirable.
We will work closely with Liverpool ChiroChem Ltd, our industrial collaborator, who will add the boronic ester products to their chemical catalogue. The role includes the opportunity to include a short placement at Liverpool ChiroChem, at their Runcorn site, to facilitate technology transfer.
