About the role

A unique and exciting opportunity for the position of Radiation Protection Officer has arisen within the Safety Department at Imperial College London. Imperial is a world-leading institution embodying education and research in science, medicine, engineering and business, with particular regard to their application in industry and healthcare. The Safety Department supports the University in this mission by advising on and monitoring the safely systems supporting its wide variety of innovative and unique scientific activities.

What you would be doing

You will report to, and support the Radiation Protection Manager in developing, maintaining and implementing robust and effective ionising and non-ionising radiation safety and environmental management systems, and will form part of an enthusiastic team of safety specialists. You will complete a range of specialist operational radiation safety tasks/functions designed to ensure compliance with statutory requirements while supporting the University’s mission. Operating within the University’s central Safety Department you will be part of an expert team providing policy, guidance and leadership in a vibrant and technologically advanced environment.

What we are looking for

You would have a degree or relevant experience in the field of science or engineering. You will be enthusiastic in relation to workplace health and safety in education and research environments. You will be experienced in the practical application of radiation and environmental protection standards within operational environments and will have good working knowledge of general health & safety legislation.

This is a full time, open ended role based at the South Kensington Campus, with responsibilities extending to all University Campuses.
