UCL Earth Sciences has a strong tradition of research into the materials in the solid Earth. We expect the successful applicant to embed themselves within our lab community, aiming to use or extend our facilities to realise their own ambitious research programme. Their research focus could fall anywhere within the fields of igneous or metamorphic petrology provided it incorporates a significant experimental component which will complement and extend our existing lab community and their capabilities. The appointed person will build links across the department, both within the experimental lab groups and tho se throughout ES and UCL more widely.
