The Opportunity:
You will conduct quantitative research and data analyses on an ERC-funded three-generational longitudinal study in South Africa investigating intergenerational violence transmission, associated risk factors and outcomes. You will also support the Principal Investigator and collaborators at University of the Witwatersrand and Wits Health Consortium in managing and running the data collection.
This post is fixed term from February 2025 for a period of 8 months.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote within the UK and regular on-campus working.
The salary for this post is £40,247 to £47,874 per annum.
Your skills and attributes for success:
A PhD (or near completion) in a relevant social or health sciences.
Relevant experience of survey methodology and quantitative research, with excellent skills in quantitative data analysis and statistics including experience of statistical software (e.g. Stata/R or MPlus or equivalent), and ability to understand and manipulate data.
Demonstrable experience and interest particularly around health or violence.
Experience communicating with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
A track record of excellent publications or papers accepted for publication in highly-ranked, peer-reviewed academic journals or with major presses, commensurate with career stage.
