We would like to add to our expertise in particular areas such as AI and ethics, philosophy of AI and the philosophical foundations of machine learning, creative industries, creative technologies (including VR/AR/XR), digital humanities, game studies, screen studies, digital heritage and interactive storytelling, but we also welcome applicants with interests in other areas of arts and humanities-centred approaches to digital futures that would contribute to the BDFI. We welcome arts and humanities applications from Anthropology & Archaeology, Classics & Ancient History, English and creative writing, Film & Television, History of Art, History, Liberal Arts, Music, Philosophy, Religion and Theology, Theatre. The successful candidates will have a permanent ‘home’ in whichever is the most appropriate School or Department. However for the first five years these appointments will be seconded to the BDFI and play a critical role in shaping the intellectual agenda of the Institute at an exciting time in its development.
