Candidates with a good degree in psychology are invited to apply for the post of Graduate Research Assistant at the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford.
The post-holder will work closely with Dr Graham Thew on clinical studies of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions within NHS Talking Therapies services. These studies aim to understand how patients approach and engage with CBT, with a particular focus on how patients use the time in between therapy sessions, and how we might provide meaningful and effective support to patients in these intervals.
The successful applicant will assist in the administration of clinical studies and trials of new digital interventions to support CBT delivery in the NHS. They will help to develop materials to inform people about the studies, manage study datasets, and assist with activities to involve patients and the public in this research.
The position is fixed-term for three years in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, good understanding of computers and software and a knowledge of statistics and experimental design, as well as the ability to work well within a team and independently. An understanding of CBT interventions and experience with editing videos and/or websites would be an advantage.
Closing date: Midday on 14th January 2025.
