About us
UCL’s Student Psychological and Counselling Services (SPCS) are part of Student Support and Wellbeing Services (SSWS). SSWS provide holistic support for all students at UCL, helping them to stay well and perform at the best of their ability. In SPCS we undertake psychological assessments of individual students in order to help them identify and solve their problems, to identify clinically significant disorders as appropriate, and to help students determine and pursue the most appropriate treatment plan. We provide high-quality, time-limited individual cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic counselling, psychiatric support and personal development workshops both face-to-face and online via telephone and video. We liaise with and refer to other professionals within and outside SPCS as appropriate.
About the role
The successful candidate will be required to provide time-limited individual cognitive behavioural therapy to a diverse group of university students with a variety of presenting problems, ranging from mild distress to clinically significant disorders.
They will take part weekly in the daily triaging rota of student registrations and, where appropriate, follow up within 24 hours any students of concern and should have experience of providing time-limited individual CBT and of facilitating personal development workshops both face to face and online via telephone and video.
About you
You will be BABCP accredited with experience of working with students or young adults, providing time-limited individual cognitive behavioural therapy and of facilitating personal development workshops, both face-to-face and online via telephone and video.
Your application must include a CV and supporting statement and it will be assessed on how well you evidence the essential and desirable criteria in the job description.
