Research Associate/ Fellow (fixed term)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a brain stimulation Research Associate within the School of Medicine, Academic Unit, Mental Health and Clinical Neurosciences.

As part of an MRC programme grant, the post holder will assist and support the Neuroinformatics research team (https://www.dynamic-connectome.org/) in developing and testing closed-loop brain stimulation in human participants. This will involve work on focused ultrasound, magnetic, and electric stimulation experiments, planning experiments, and processing of neuroimaging (EEG, fMRI) and cognitive data gathered before, during, and after brain stimulation.

You must have been awarded a PhD, or be near to completion, in STEM or related subjects; prior experience in the neurosciences is desirable. You must have experience in use of research methodologies and techniques to work within area and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others, both internally and externally.

Nottingham “the home of MRI” offers an excellent environment for imaging, is pioneering the use of neurotechnology for brain disorders with several start-ups in this area, hosts the Institute of Mental Health (https://www.institutemh.org.uk ), and is launching a 24-faculty member Centre for Neurotechnology, Neuromodulation, and Neurotherapeutics.

The post is offered on a full-time (36.25 hours per week), fixed-term contract, until 28 February 2027 initially, with a potential extension of a further three years.
