Trust Electric Heating are industry-leading, electrical heating experts providing innovative, affordable, and sustainable heating solutions to homes across the UK. The company manufactures a range of electric radiator products with state-of-the-art control systems. The company has a vision to develop range of technologically advanced products to transform the heating market.

Your role as Research and Development Engineer (KTP Associate) will be to develop a novel intelligent heating system using phase change heat transfer technology. The work will have elements of modelling, designing, testing, and manufacturing, as well as providing support to other teams within Trust Electric.

As Research and Development Engineer (KTP Associate), you will have sound knowledge of material science, research techniques, and phase change materials. You will liaise with company engineers, management and customers; hence you must possess excellent people skills and the drive and determination to deliver and embed new knowledge within the company. You will also have a 2:1 or above honours degree in a relevant area and preferably one year’s appropriate industrial experience. Postgraduate (M.Sc./Ph.D.) applicants with industrial experience are particularly encouraged to apply for this fast-track engineering and management opportunity.

This KTP is a 36-month project between the University of Huddersfield (Department of Engineering Technology in the School of Computing & Engineering) and Trust Electric Heating, Leeds. The package includes a technical and personal training allowance, plus the opportunity to gain a higher degree and to register for a CMI Diploma in Management. KTP Associates are also encouraged to attain membership of a professional organisation, in this instance IMechE.
