As part of an EPSRC-funded grant on “Multimode Cavity QED”, we are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work with Jonathan Keeling on the theory of the dynamics of cold atoms in multimode optical cavities. The grant is led by the University of St Andrews in collaboration with Strathclyde University and the University of Oxford.
You should have, or be about to complete, a PhD in theoretical physics, and experience with using and/or a willingness to use both analytical and numerical methods. You should have evidence of your capacity to work as an independent researcher, for example through published papers. The role will also involve day-to-day supervision of students, and modest contributions to departmental teaching and public engagement.
