Applications are invited for an appointment as Lecturer in International Human Rights Law at University of Galway, Ireland.  This is a full time Specific contract post.  

The Irish Centre for Human Rights is one of the world's premier academic human rights institutions, dedicated to the study of human rights, peace and conflict, international criminal law and humanitarian law, international refugee and migration law, gender and human rights and climate justice. The Centre has developed a global reputation for excellence in the field of human rights teaching, research and advocacy. Each year we attract high quality students from across the globe, to our acclaimed Masters programs in International Human Rights Law, Peace Operations, Conflict and Humanitarian Law, International Migration and Refugee Law and Policy and International Criminal Law, and new LLM programmes in Transitional Justice, Human Rights and Conflict, and LLM in Gender and Human Rights.  Our academic programmes also include unique education opportunities through our undergraduate BCL Law and Human Rights and BA with Human Rights. The Centre also hosts a thriving international community of doctoral researchers.

The School of Law has over 1,000 students, over 45 faculty, research and professional services staff, and over 15 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The mission of the School is rooted in its commitment to the fundamental values of global democracy, to maximising educational opportunities for all, to public service, and to pursuing the highest standards in its teaching and research.  Within the School’s Strategic Plan, core areas of development are identified, which are key to the School’s continued success: teaching and learning, research, people, external engagement, estate, and contribution to sustainable goals.   The School seeks to attract, retain and develop talented academic staff in areas aligned with our strategic priorities. Salary:

62,376 to €99,508 pro rata p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)

This appointment will be made on the Lecturer scale in line with current Government pay policy and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University’s Remuneration policy. QA321-Updated-PP-Remuneration.pdf (universityofgalway.ie)
