We are looking to appoint a full-time Lecturer in User Experience. This exciting position is within the School of Digital Arts, SODA, a purpose-built interdisciplinary school at one of the UK's leading universities.
Role Overview:
As the successful candidate you will join our vibrant UX team as a UX specialist with academic experience and/or recent relevant industry experience within this area.
Candidates should have demonstrable experience with any of the following:
An understanding of the business requirements of UX such as corporate governance, ethics and regulation would be useful along with the ability to engage in education and knowledge exchange initiatives, enhancing the academic and cultural landscape of our institution.
Offering industry and research informed courses and specialist spaces with the latest technologies, SODA offers the workspaces, networks, teaching and research that will drive the next generation of creative content. Our students study disciplines that span Film, Animation, UX, Games Design, Games Art and more, often working on live projects with creative industry and cultural partners and frequently collaborating with fellow students and researchers. They choose from a diverse range of courses: Foundation year, Undergraduate, Degree Apprenticeship, Postgraduate and Research degrees that run alongside summer schools and short courses.
Opened in September 2021, SODA is part of the award-winning Manchester School of Art which brings together creative and craft disciplines, technical and scientific skills, industry partnerships and global research to teach the next generation of talent. Rated sixth in the UK for its research power, and with a history of generating ideas and innovation that stretches back more than 180 years, Manchester School of Art has pioneered the interdisciplinary approach that guides how we teach and work in SODA.
