The Admissions Office at Manchester Met is responsible for over 100,000 applications to courses across the University each year. Each member of our team plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive applicant experience. We are looking to recruit a number of new Recruitment and Admissions Assistants to join our team, primarily to support to the assessment of applications to our undergraduate programmes, via UCAS.

The roles will be offered on a fixed-term basis, for 18 months, in the first instance.

The role

As a Recruitment and Admissions Assistant (Admissions), you will:

  • Provide a high quality and consistent service to applicants and enquirers and promote a customer-focused approach within the team.
  • Undertake application assessment, making admissions decisions on applications against set-criteria.
  • Work flexibly to support the wider recruitment and admissions team, supporting events and activities, as required

The ideal candidate

We are looking for people with the following key skills and experiences:

  1. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  2. Excellent administrative skills, ideally with some experience working in a similar role in an education or customer service-related setting.
  3. Ability to manage a high volume of work, quickly and consistently.
  4. Ability to rapidly develop knowledge and understand complex processes.

Working pattern

  • We work on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. We are unable to consider applications for fully-remote positions.
  • During peak-periods, colleagues may be required to work from the office full-time (for example, during the August A-level results period).
