The Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of this post is to appoint an Assistant Professor in Comparative Politics, who will contribute to teaching, research, and administrative activities within the department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in both teaching and research in Comparative Politics and will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate instruction. Additionally, the role includes interdisciplinary teaching and the supervision and mentoring of students to support their academic development across a diverse range of research interests.
Context
The Department of Political Science, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Political Science, starting 1 August 2025. We are looking for applicants with vision, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to research and teaching. The ideal candidate will have a proven research record, relative to their career stage, with clear potential for further contributions to the field of Comparative Politics. We welcome candidates from all subfields who can bring fresh perspectives to enrich our curriculum. Excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels is expected.
