About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the team supporting QMUL in targeting strategic funding opportunities, monitoring our research and innovation performance and driving forward business improvement.
You will lead a small team building an overview of QMUL research and innovation performance, co-ordinate inputs to sector wide exercises such as the REF and play a prominent role in identifying funding opportunities that play to QMUL strengths and align with our strategic interests. Working closely with colleagues across the university you will support senior decision makers in understanding QMUL strengths and the implications for strategy and funding applications.
About You
This role is a perfect opportunity for candidates with expertise in research funding management, REF planning or a background in analysis who are seeking to develop a wider understanding of strategic investment choices in a university environment.
You will be a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and experience of working in partnership with others across a complex organisation. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to organise your team’s workload to reflect competing pressures and demands.
You will be practiced in the use of quantitative and qualitative analysis to support decision making with a proven ability to provide clear advice to senior management. With a high level of numeracy and the ability to research, analyse, and interpret complex data you will be keen to drive organisational improvement and support your team’s development.
Experience of working in a university is not essential.
