We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Science and Technology Scientist, working at our Clinical BioManufacturing Facility (CBF). The Clinical BioManufacturing Facility (CBF) is the University of Oxford’s GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) manufacturing facility, where basic research is translated into Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) for use in clinical trials. The CBF is a research facility within the Nuffield Department of Medicine and currently comprises approximately 30 FTE staff. The CBF has manufactured over 30 novel vaccines for first-in-human studies, targeting infectious diseases and cancer therapies, and has supported more than 100 clinical trials.
We are seeking an experienced research scientist to join our Manufacturing Science and Technology group in our Production team to provide a hands-on role in the improvement of existing GMP upstream and downstream manufacturing processes and in the research and development of new processes for assisting technology transfer into GMP manufacturing. You will also support the production and testing of biological starting materials of suitable quality for use in GMP manufacturing to produce Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs).
It is essential that you hold a degree in a relevant biological subject as well as being technically adept and experienced at laboratory techniques and assays, including molecular biology. The ability to analyse and present scientific data as well as being able to manage and prioritise your own workload will be crucial.
Please apply for this role online (via the ‘Apply’ button above), attaching a copy of your CV and a supporting statement. Your supporting statement should explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience.
