About the Role
This role provides comprehensive secretarial, financial, organisational and administrative support to the Health & Safety Directorate (HSD), as well as line managing the department Administrator. The post holder will help to ensure efficiency in service levels and health & safety compliance across the University. Duties and responsibilities include Lead Administrator for the Health & Safety / Fire Safety team, coordinating training administration for all H&S accredited courses the directorate delivers, managing and developing the HSD website content and leading on administration for any new H&S software packages.
About You
This is a busy and varied role and the post holder must be able to work to tight deadlines and learn new systems and procedures rapidly. The role requires the post holder to have excellent organisational skills and a responsive, flexible attitude. The ability to interpret and analyse data and present findings accurately to support effective reporting of information to senior University staff is also important.
About the Department
The Health & Safety Directorate provide a comprehensive advisory health, safety and fire safety service to all Queen Mary University of London staff and students. The Health and Safety Administrator supports the HSD Team in achieving this objective. The directorate has 14 staff and is part of the Office of the Principal, which is a central Professional Services department.
The Health and Safety Directorate (HSD) supports Queen Mary staff in decision making in regard to compliance with H&S legislation and good practice in H&S.
