About the Role

The postholder will work between Bone and Joint Health, part of the Centre of Neuroscience, Surgery and Trauma Centre (40%) and the Hand Therapy Department at Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust (60%).

The postholder will work alongside Dr Lisa Newington (Clinical Lecturer in Hand Therapy) and contribute to existing research programmes (upper limb rehabilitation, musculoskeletal health and work, routinely collected data in hand therapy). They will be supported to develop and lead their own projects and will have access to the Bone and Joint clinical academic training programme. A key objective for this role is to use these development opportunities to prepare an application for PhD funding.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

You will have a Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy degree, HCPC registration, and clinical expertise in Hand Therapy. You will have experience of leading clinical audit, service evaluation or quality improvement projects, and evidence of peer reviewed presentations (e.g. conference presentations) and/or publications. You will have good project management skills and the ambition and drive to undertake a PhD in an area relevant to hand therapy.

This post is based at the Blizard Institute, Whitechapel Campus. It is fulltime (35 hours per week), fixed term for 2 years, with a 40:60 split academic: clinical. The starting salary will be £39,065 -  £45,622 (depending on candidate experience)
