About the Role
We are looking to appoint a Clinical Trials Research Fellow in IBD at Queen Mary University of London and The Royal London Hospital. We have international reputation for translational research and clinical excellence in IBD. You will work in our dedicated clinical trials unit recruiting to commercial and investigator led clinical studies as well as supporting the clinical IBD service as part of our MDT. This has been endorsed as an IBD clinical fellow post by the BSG.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated doctor with an interest in pursuing a career in gastroenterology with a focus in IBD. The post would suit a current SpR or IMT wanting out of programme experience in managing complex IBD and the conduct of interventional clinical trials. During the year you would also have the opportunity to undertake additional training which could include IBD endoscopy, intestinal ultrasound or undertaking preliminary research to support a subsequent grant application to study for a higher degree. If you are currently working overseas with a non-UK medical degree, you would need to register and have a licence to practice with the General Medical Council prior to starting the post. The post requires excellent organisation and time management skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively as part of the MDT.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
Salary will be based on Clinical Lecturer Nodal Pt 3/4 level (depending on previous experience). Applicants who hold a current NHS training post under the 2016 terms and conditions will be paid on the relevant pay scale (£40,257 to £58,398. Interviews will take place in January 2025.
