We have an exciting opportunity for a well-organised and self-motivated individual to join the technical support team in the School of Applied Sciences.
This will involve preparing equipment and materials for practical classes where you will work as part of a team of technicians, providing technical assistance across a wide range of laboratories and facilities in the School in particular Chemistry, Forensic and Analytical.
Laboratory experience and A-levels or equivalent qualification in a science-related subject are essential requirements for this role, along with being adaptable, the ability to work on your own initiative and effectively as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills are also a requirement plus a desire to learn new skills.
The School is committed to Athena SWAN principles and the promotion of equality and diversity. We are proud to hold a Silver Athena SWAN Award. The School is also proud to drive sustainability forward and holds LEAF bronze award for its labs. The University is a signatory of the Technicians’ commitment.
The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all. Find out more about our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, including our commitments and accreditations as a Disability Confident Employer, Stonewall Gold Award holder and Top 100 Employer, Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder and Race Equality Charter Bronze Award holder.
