The Institute of Healthcare Engineering

The Institute of Healthcare Engineering connects engineering and computing with health and clinical scientists across UCL and the UCL Hospitals to develop fundamental engineering tools and use them to develop translatable, healthcare engineering solutions to clinical problems. The IHE aligns with UCL goals of developing multidisciplinary teams of researchers to improve the lives of people globally and delivers a portfolio of activity spanning research, innovation, education / training, and knowledge exchange.

Engineering Sciences comprises ten academic Departments that undertake research and teaching across a wide range of disciplines. Our scientists and engineers take discoveries from fundamentals to practice, producing innovative technological solutions to challenging problems. About the role

This is a senior role providing support to staff working with the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and located within the Professional Services team of the Engineering Sciences Faculty Office.

The role will be directed by and work closely with the Vice Dean Health (and the Director of Institute of Healthcare Engineering, currently the same role-holder) and will work alongside the School of the Built Environment, Engineering and Mathematical and Physical Sciences (BEAMS) Research Coordination and Planning team.

This role will provide strategic and operational support, acting as the primary point of contact to facilitate relationships and develop funding opportunities with teams responsible for research, translation, healthcare and industry both internal and external to UCL in order to support large-scale projects.

About you

The postholder will maintain a comprehensive and up to date knowledge of the areas of expertise of colleagues, awareness of funding opportunities available, and will demonstrate the ability to draw together teams across disciplinary boundaries to work collaboratively with colleagues from, e.g., the NHS, charities and industry
