About the role
The University is looking for a Scholarships Manager to work within the Admissions Office. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the University’s central scholarships provision, as well as line managing the enquiries team within Admissions.
You will play a key role in the promotion, application, selection and allocation of the University’s main taught scholarships (which are worth over £4 million annually). You will be involved in the reviewing of scholarship applications, including managing any selection panels and providing detailed advice and guidance to those panels.
Working with the Head of Scholarships, you will monitor allocations to ensure scholarships are awarded in line with planned numbers and that decisions are fair and the process efficient and timely.
You will also ensure effective communication with recipients to enhance conversion and, with the wider Admissions enquiries team, support an excellent applicant experience with all admissions enquiries.
The Admissions Office is a busy, friendly environment with a team currently comprising 40 staff split between Undergraduate Admissions, Postgraduate Admissions and Scholarships. The Head of Admissions oversees the work of the whole Office.
About you
You will need to be organised, hard-working and possess excellent attention to detail. You should be comfortable working in a busy, pressured environment with an expectation of meeting tight deadlines.
You will need excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service. You will ideally have experience of working with people from across the globe and in dealing with those whose first language is not English.
You will have experience of working within a team and evidence of working collaboratively with others to achieve a common goal. You will ideally have experience of line management or can demonstrate the skills and aptitude to be an excellent manager.
