About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide a professional service with respect to a range of financial and partnership management, including project and budget set-up, project staff and student appointment authorisation and compliance to funder and organisational terms and conditions.
The post holder will also be expected to provide guidance and support to other colleagues within the Joint Research Office when necessary, along with the oversight of research administrators who will support with Invoicing, reconciliation and credit control.
About You
The post-holder will work as an Assistant Manager, working closely with the Research Support Officers and Invoicing Assistants to provide a high level of client support. They will provide advice on funder terms and conditions, allowable cost, financial planning and QMUL financial regulations. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a flexible approach to work, being able to prioritise a demanding programme of work to meet set deadlines.
This specialised role will act as a key contact point in order to deliver a superior level of service to both internal and external customers. The post holder will have a high level of professionalism and extensive experience in post award administration. Above all the post-holder will have a keen desire to meet targets and deadlines and to pursue excellence in all that they do and to look for continuous development and personal growth.

The Joint Research Management Office (JRMO) supports researchers across Queen Mary, University of London and Bart’s Health NHS Trust.
