We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow for 12 months to join our vibrant and growing multidisciplinary team researching the effects of noise pollution on health and wellbeing.
The postholder will work on the Department for Transport funded Aviation Night Noise Effects (ANNE) study which is examining the relationship of aviation noise on sleep disturbance and annoyance, and how this varies by different times of night. This is the first study of aviation noise effects on sleep disturbance in the UK for 30 years.
The postholder will co-manage a research team conducting an observational study of 200 residents who live near airports in the UK, assessing the effect of night-time aircraft noise exposure on awakenings and sleep quality. The study collects physiological data on sleep disturbance and sound level measurements in participants’ bedrooms, as well as survey data.
