This is an exciting opportunity to undertake innovative imaging analysis of a MRI dataset from a clinical trial of children with ependymoma. The post holder will implement radiomic analysis of scans in a large clinical trial dataset with detailed molecular phenotyping, and will work with a biostatistician to conduct a radiogenomic analysis of the data. The post is part of a multidisiciplinary research team comprising members from centres at the University of Nottingham, including the Magnetic Resonance and Precision Imaging (MR&PI) Theme in the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre, the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre and the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre. The post involves close working with colleagues in the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, which holds Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission Centre of Excellence status for children’s brain cancer care.

This Clinical Research Fellow post is aimed at early-career researchers with a PhD, or nearing completion of the PhD, in medical image analysis or closely related discipline. The post holder will be expected to plan and conduct work using methodologies and techniques appropriate to the research question and will be responsible for writing up your work for publication. In addition to addressing the study objectives, post-holder will have the opportunity to use their initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, develop research methods and extend their own research portfolio.

The post will be offered on a fixed term contract until 21 August 2025. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week) or part time, subject to discussion.
