Research Associate/Fellow (Fixed term)

The School of Psychology at the University of Nottingham is seeking to appoint a Research Associate/Fellow to support Dr Charles Ogunbode. 

This position is funded by a New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF) award to a project titled: ‘Climate Mental Health Research Initiative: Urgently Accelerating Climate Mental Health & Equity through Global Networks’. The project has a global and interdisciplinary team spearheaded by researchers at the School of Public Health, University of Alberta. It will involve collaboration with researchers, practitioners, and community organisers across the Americas, Caribbean, Europe, Africa, South Asia, and the Pacific. 

The Research Fellow will support delivery of UK-led work packages within the larger project which are investigating climate change and mental health among people of Black and South Asian heritage in the UK, and young people in West Africa.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will:

• Demonstrate extensive experience with qualitative research including study design, data collection, and data analysis.
• Have practical experience with analysis and interpretation of statistical data using relevant software (e.g., R, SPSS, STATA, AMOS).
• Have experience in preparing ethics applications and research protocols involving the collection, management, and sharing of social science data sets.
• Have experience in recruiting and working with human research participants to collect research project data.
• Have experience with conducting and/or facilitating research interviews or focus groups with human research participants.
• Have excellent organisational and project management skills, including a proven ability to prioritise work tasks, manage your time, and multi-task.
• Be able to work independently and take initiative, yet also work flexibly and supportively as part of a team. 
• Have experience with conducting mental health, wellbeing, and/or public health research.
