Lincoln College invites applications for a Stipendiary Lectureship in Physics starting 6 January 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter, to cover short-term teaching needs in the subject. The post is available from 6 January - 31 August 2025 and is not renewable.
The lecturer will be expected to teach two out of the following three topics: 2nd year A1 Thermal and Statistical Physics, 3rd year B3 Atomic and Laser Physics, and 3rd year B5 General Relativity. The required number of hours will depend on the combination of topics selected, for the combination B3 and B5 it would be an average of 4 weighted hours per week.
Applicants should indicate which topics they would be able to offer. Applicants will have, or will be in the final stages of completing a doctorate in Physics, and will be likely to have teaching experience, at undergraduate level, in Physics.
The salary offered will depend on the number of hours required from the combination of topics selected. In the case of 4 weighted hours per week, the salary offered is in the range £11,046-£12,205 per annum (33% of National Scale Points 23-27, pro-rated for appointments of less than a year).
