The above part-time post (0.6 FTE) is available immediately on a fixed-term maternity cover contract until 30 November 2025, on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Doctoral Clinical PGR Portfolio, Psychology.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

The role

The Faculty wishes to recruit a part-time (0.6 FTE) Senior Lecturer to act as the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead and Senior Academic Tutor for the DClinPsy PGR Doctoral Training Programme in Clinical Psychology. The DClinPsy is part of the DClinPGR portfolio of Programmes and based within the Department of Psychology at the University of Exeter.

You will be responsible for the development, delivery, management and monitoring off EDI activity across the DClinPsy Programme and will work with the Strategic Management Group to ensure the efficient delivery of EDI initiatives on the DClinPsy.

You will also work with the Academic Director to ensure the on-going development and delivery of the academic curriculum of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy). This will include acting as a Curriculum Convenor for the Learning Disability and Adult & Older Adult strands within the DClinPsy. You will have responsibility for the design, development, and production of teaching across these strands, working in collaboration with external lecturers, and the DClinPsy Curriculum Convenors.

About you

For a Senior Lecturer post on the DClinPsy you will:

  • Possess a post graduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the BPS and giving eligibility for Chartered Clinical Psychology registration.
  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge and experience in working with issues of EDI in the context of Clinical Psychology training.
  • Be able to demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development as recommended by the BPS and have experience of supervising clinical psychology trainees.
  • Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students.
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities and teaching.
