The Student Disability Service is seeking to appoint a mental health mentor to create and implement individualised programmes of support for students with mental health difficulties. To assist students in developing strategies which enable participation in his/her studies and in the management of mental health difficulties. To assess the effectiveness of the programme on the student’s university experience and management of mental health difficulties. Working with the Disability Advisers (Mental Health), carrying out supporting work, providing advice, guidance and support.

You must be educated to degree level and hold current membership with a recognised Professional Body e.g. NMC, BACP, HCPC, UKCP, SSSC/CC Wales (a full list of accepted professional bodies is listed at nmh-qualifications-matrix-july2023-updated-sept-23.pdf (slc.co.uk). Experience of working with clients in mental health support is required. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the key advances within mental health support in Higher Education.

The post is part time (21 hours per week), and fixed term for 12 months to cover for a member of staff on maternity leave.

Salary:  £40,247 - £45,163 per annum, pro rata for hours worked (Grade 6).
